One person has been killed, according to the Syracuse Police Department on Christmas Eve.

On the evening of Christmas Eve in Syracuse, a 19-year-old man was shot and killed on the city’s west side. On Saturday evening, just before 9:00 o’clock, the Syracuse Police Department was called to the 600 block of Richmond Avenue for a complaint of a shooting that resulted in injuries.
When the police came, they discovered the victim near the back of the house. According to the investigators, he had a gunshot wound to the upper torso area.
The victim was transported to Upstate Medical Hospital, where it was determined that he had passed away.
The name of the person who was killed is being withheld at this time. There are currently no suspects being held in custody.
