2-year-old Brandon Rozier Jr found safe in Evanston after taken from his babysitter’s North College Hill home

Police have not located the 24-year-old suspect.

According to the child’s family, the 2-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert was discovered in Evanston on Friday afternoon.

Brandon Rozier Jr. was taken from his babysitter’s residence in North College Hill at around 5 a.m. and was discovered in Evanston on Wabash Avenue.

A statewide Amber Alert was released on Thursday afternoon after Rozier’s abduction. North College Hill Police Chief Ryan Schrand stated that police suspect Lucy Renee Bullock, a friend of the babysitter, took the child from the babysitter’s car without permission.

The Amber Alert remained active for more than 24 hours. Schrand reported that Bullock was driving a stolen SUV.

It took longer to issue the Amber Alert because they needed to confirm Bullock’s identity and criminal record, which included car theft. Recently, Bullock appeared in Judge Leslie Ghiz’s court for two minor, non-violent crimes.

At that time, Ghiz indicated that she was under the care of the Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Services (GCBH) due to mental health concerns.

Ghiz added that individuals who are under the care of GCBH and have non-violent offenses are put on probation. Schrand stated that they have not yet discovered why Bullock would want to take Rozier.

Although Rozier was discovered, it is unclear if police have located Bullock or apprehended her.
