21-year-old Devante Watson arrested in connection to shooting death of Eric Crane in College Park
The investigation also revealed that Mr. Crane and Mr. Watson were not known to each other.
On March 3, 2023, at 1:34 p.m., Clayton County Police Officers responded to Riverdale Road and Norman Drive, College Park, GA in reference to a person shot call.
Upon arrival, officers located 57-year-old Eric Crane located in the southbound lanes suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Eric Crane was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, several eye witnesses were able to advise officers that a black male was observed shooting Mr. Crane several times and then running back to a vehicle and leaving the scene.
Clayton County Detectives conducted an extensive investigation which led them to 21-year-old Devonte Watson of Atlanta.
The investigation also revealed that Mr. Crane and Mr. Watson were not known to each other.
On March 7, 2023, Clayton County Police Detective secured warrants for Malice Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Crime for Devonte Watson.
Mr. Watson is currently in custody of the Fulton County Jail on unrelated charges.
