27-year-old Kevin Turner dead, another injured in shooting outside Phoenix 7-Eleven
The suspect fled the area prior to officers arriving on scene.

(March 2, 2023) Phoenix police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened overnight in the area of 48th Street and McDowell Road which left one man in dead and another in the hospital.
On March 2, 2023, just before 2:30 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to a shooting at a convenience store near 4800 East McDowell Road.
When units arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to local hospitals.
One man, identified as 27-year-old Kevin Turner, did not survive his injuries. The other man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Homicide detectives responded to investigate the shooting. Preliminary information indicates that an argument occurred between the two men who were shot and an unknown suspect.
During this argument, the suspect fired multiple shots at the victims. The suspect fled the area prior to officers arriving on scene. Additional details about what led up to the shooting is part of the ongoing investigation.
