According to the police, four persons were shot as they were standing on the street early on Sunday morning on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Three of the victims died as a result of their injuries.
According to the information provided by the Chicago Police Department, a person, a male, opened fire on the people at approximately 2:30 in the morning near North Central Avenue and West School Street. The suspect then fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV after the shooting.
Cmdr. Joseph Brennan stated at a press conference early on Sunday morning that there was a brawl inside the club prior to the gunshot that took place in the street.
According to the Chicago police, a man in his 50s, another man in his 26s, and a woman in her 24s all lost their lives in the shooting.
The woman, who is 25 years old and suffered a gunshot wound to the head, was transported to a nearby hospital and is currently listed as being in critical condition, according to the police.
Their names have not been made public at this time.
At this time, no one has been taken into custody, and detectives from Area 5 are continuing their investigation of the incident.
Brennan stated that investigators believe only one person was involved, despite the fact that they are still in the preliminary phases of their investigation.
