33-year-old Desia Werts dead and 9 other injured in stampede at GloRilla concert in Rochester, New York

According to police, a false alarm about a shooting at a rap concert in Rochester, New York, caused the crowd to panic and rush towards the exits, resulting in one fatality and nine injuries.

The injuries were caused by people being trampled, as there is no evidence of any gunshots or stabbings at the scene.

Three women were found with significant injuries and were immediately given medical attention, but unfortunately, one of them, a 33-year-old woman, died.

The other two women are currently in critical condition, while the remaining seven individuals with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to the hospital in private vehicles.

According to the police chief, what was supposed to be an enjoyable night of live music and entertainment for GloRilla and the attendees tragically ended with one fatality and two individuals in critical condition.

Although there is no proof of any gunshots, Chief Smith revealed that the authorities are exploring various potential causes for the deadly stampede, such as the size of the crowd, the discharge of firearms, the use of pepper spray, and other contributing factors.

The mayor of Rochester, Malik Evans, described the deadly stampede as a significant tragedy and pledged to conduct a thorough investigation.

Evans made it clear that they will hold accountable whoever is responsible for the incident. Meanwhile, GloRilla, a Memphis-based performer whose song was nominated for a Grammy, expressed her concern and offered prayers for the safety of everyone involved.

Unfortunately, deadly stampedes have been a recurring problem at concerts and other large gatherings worldwide, including the recent 2021 tragedy at a Travis Scott concert where ten people lost their lives.
