33-year-old Dylan Murphy shot and killed by a police officer in Sandy
Police did not divulge whether the man in this incident was armed.

Early on Sunday morning in Sandy, a police officer fatally shot a man. The incident took place at 11640 South 1020 East around 1 a.m.
The Sandy Police Department issued a press release stating that the officer was in search of a man who was allegedly going through a mental health crisis and might have been contemplating suicide.
The officer located the individual walking, and at some point, the man posed a threat, resulting in the officer firing his weapon.
The man who died at the scene was identified by his family members as 33-year-old Dylan Murphy.
The police officer involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries.
The shooting is currently under investigation in accordance with the Salt Lake County officer-involved critical incident protocol, and the officer has been put on paid administrative leave.
