The police search of Muncie’s Baymont Inn is over.
No suspicious subjects were found. According to scanner traffic, an earlier report of gunshots fired at a nearby apartment complex somehow led to an erroneous claim of a gunman outside the hotel.
This is the scene from the air at approximately 12:05pm of the area around the Baymont Inn. You can see the police presence all around the hotel, as law enforcement searches for a possible shooter.
Traffic is being directed at the Bethel and McGalliard intersection
Muncie police investigating a report of a man in military fatigues, reportedly armed with a rifle, at or near the Baymont Inn, 3400 N. Chadam Lane.





Caller reported hearing gunfire, but people found at the scene by police heard nothing. Facility is being searched.
