4 dead, 2 wounded in shooting at Greenwood Park Mall; police said ‘good Samaritan Elisjsha Dicken’ shot and killed shooter Jonathan Douglas Sapirman

Update:
A solitary suspect entered the food court at the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana, at approximately six o’clock on Sunday evening, according to the Greenwood Police Department, which is located at 1251 North United States Highway 31. After then, the man opened fire inside the shopping center, wounding two other individuals and murdering three others. A customer at the shopping center took out the gunman and killed him with his own gunfire.
The Johnson County Coroner’s Office and the Marion County Coroner’s Office made the tragic announcement on Monday that the incident claimed the lives of four persons.
Both Pedro Pineda, 56, and his wife Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37, were found to have passed away. Both were residents of the city of Indianapolis. It has also been determined that Victor Gomez, who was 30 years old and from Indianapolis, was one of the fatalities.
FOX3 has also confirmed that the shooter is Jonathan Douglas Sapirman, who is 20 years old and lives in Greenwood. Reports say that Sapirman went into the mall with a gun and several magazines. He killed three people with his gun before a citizen with a gun killed him.

Elisjsha Dicken was determined to be the Good Samaritan who was responsible for the shooting death of Sapirman by the police.

Authorities say that Sapirman shot Pedro and Rosa while they were sitting and eating. Gomez was shot as he stood outside the bathroom.
Family members told the police that they were shocked by Sapirman’s attack and that he had never showed them any evidence of having aggressive tendencies in the past. When the authorities searched Sapirman’s flat, they discovered a burned laptop in the oven. Sapirman lived alone in the apartment. His cell phone was discovered in the toilet of the bathroom in the shopping center.
Before Dicken shot and murdered Sapirman, the police reported that 24 shots had been fired and five people had been injured.
On Tuesday, autopsies are going to be performed on all four of the deceased persons.

The raid happened at the father’s home at an apartment complex. The shooter’s ID is still not being released but we have learned he is 20. So far we have found no past criminal history.
Greenwood Park Mall just released this statement:
“We grieve for the victims of yesterday’s horrific tragedy in Greenwood. Violence has no place in this or any other community. We are grateful for the strong response of the first responders, including the heroic actions of the Good Samaritan who stopped the suspect.”
Police raid the home of the Greenwood Mass shooter.

The bodies of the mass shooting suspect & one of the victims were removed from Greenwood Park Mall at about 2am. Shooter has been identified, not the victim yet. Two other victims died from injuries at Indy Hospitals. This is the latest as of 3:15a Mon. July 18th.
Sunday evening at approximately six o’clock, there was a shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall, and the local police are currently investigating the incident.
Police tell FOX3 that the shooter is one of the four people who have died.
According to Jim Ison, the police chief of Greenwood, Indiana, two additional people were hurt in the early-evening attack at Greenwood Park Mall. One was still in the hospital, he claimed. A 12-year-old girl who had cuts was given treatment and then released.
Ison reported that four of the six injured or deceased victims were women.
Ison reported that it appeared as though the gunman had been killed by a “good Samaritan” who had witnessed the attack and opened fire with a revolver with the goal of putting an end to the assault.
The only identifying information he provided was that the young man was from Bartholomew County, which is located south of the metropolitan region.
The person who was lawfully carrying a gun and was able to stop the gunman almost immediately was the true hero of the day, according to Ison.
Ison claimed that the shooter seemed to be at the mall with malicious motives.
At this point, the only information available is that the gunman was an adult male. The shooter, according to the police, was armed with a long rifle as well as multiple magazines of ammunition.
FOX3 was told by witnesses who were inside the mall at the time of the shooting that they heard twenty gunshots coming from the food court. According to the information provided by IMPD, it seems that shots were only fired in the food court area.
During a news conference that took place at 7:45 p.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) stated that there is no known ongoing danger at the scene.
A large number of police units are currently combing around the shopping center to check that no one has been injured and that no one is hiding out there.
The IMPD has stated that there is currently no information on a possible motive for the shooting.
According to the IMPD, interviews with witnesses are now taking place.
The following is an excerpt from a message that Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers published on Facebook: “This calamity strikes at the very heart of our neighborhood. Please pray for all who have been affected by this tragedy as well as the first responders who are helping them.”
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Investigators Department (IMPD), the armed bystander who shot the shooter is now working with police. It is suspected that the spectator was armed with a handgun and made the decision to get involved after witnessing a shooting.
