Husband shoots wife dead before turning gun on himself in Christmas Day murder-suicide: Cops find two dead bodies at Jehovah’s witness center in Colorado – as they probe ‘suspicious devices’

A married couple was found dead at a Jehovah’s Witnesses hall in Thornton on Christmas morning, and investigators believe the incident may have been a murder-suicide. A hazardous materials team has been sent in to investigate “strange gadgets” found at the scene.

According to a press statement issued by the city of Thornton, the police department received the first report of a structure fire at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 951 Milky Way at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Then, after that, there was a report that an adult male shot and murdered an adult female, and then, after that, the adult male shot himself to death, according to the authorities.

According to the Thornton police, the deceased individuals were a married couple who had formerly been associated with the Kingdom Hall congregation. The Adams County Coroner’s Office will, at a later time, reveal their identities to the public.

On Twitter, the Thornton Police Department stated that the investigation is still on, that witnesses are being questioned, and that the scene is still being reviewed. “…There are currently no recognized dangers to the residents of Thornton.”

The sounds of two gunshots were heard early on Sunday morning by Luis Sanchez, who lives across the street. He claimed that he peered out the window and saw a woman lying down on the ground outside.

“It’s very sad,” he said. “It’s Christmas.”

According to the congregation, Kingdom Hall has three services on every single Sunday. Since Jehovah’s Witnesses do not observe Christmas, the services were similar to those held on a weekly basis.

In a statement, Mayor Jan Kulmann of Thornton expressed her sadness on the recent violent acts that have claimed the lives of two people in the city. This kind of brutality is appalling at any time of the year, but especially on Christmas Day.

Initial Report:

It has been reported that deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office are responding to a gunshot that occurred at the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation located at 951 Milky Way.

However, Sergeant Adam Sherman of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office stated that he was unable to provide any further information.

The Thornton Police Department has launched an investigation into a homicide at Kingdom Hall, adding that there was no active threat. The police have also deployed officers to the Jehovah’s Witness building.

The exact details of this incident have not yet been confirmed by authorities. However, police have confirmed they are responding to the scene.

Fire personnel are currently en-route following reports of a fire at the building as well; injuries still unknown as this incident continues to develop.

As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
