Deputies and detectives are on scene at Lennard High School, reference an adult male, who is not believed to be a student, was transported to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a guy reportedly sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound on school grounds on Thursday morning, which caused panic and confusion to erupt throughout Lennard High School.
Sheriff Chad Chronister stated in a tweet that there was no immediate threat to school safety and that there was not an active shooter incident.
According to deputies speaking to FOX3, an adult who is not a student at the school was shot by themselves and sent to a nearby hospital. The event, according to the witness, took place in the school’s parking lot.
There is no current threat to children, instructors, or personnel, according to deputies.
Students were ultimately released from school early after a lengthy lockdown was lifted.
Sheriff Chronister continued by saying that further information would be given as the inquiry went on.
