Today at 2:22pm a celebration at Quail Springs Mall set off confetti cannons that were mistaken by people in the mall as gunfire.

On Saturday afternoon, police were called to the Quail Springs Mall after a party that included confetti cannons caused people to assume there was a shooter within the building.
After police officers searched the entire structure and found no shooter, mall activities resumed as usual, according to Oklahoma City Police Detective Jon LaPuzza.
After hearing huge booms reverberate throughout the building, shoppers ran and hid. According to LaPuzza, the cause of the booms was graduates at the hair salon school on the second level blowing off confetti cannons as part of a graduation celebration.

We’ve established there isn’t a shooter, he declared. “Nobody was shot or injured in any other way,” was stated.
People sheltering in the mall began calling Oklahoma City Police with emergency requests at 2:22 p.m., according to LaPuzza. The callers claimed to have heard gunshots. He claimed that several law enforcement organizations sent officers to the area in a matter of seconds.
During the chaos, at least two shoppers were hurt. LaPuzza said that one woman passed out and another hurt her leg when she fell down.
