On Sunday night, February 26th, a 26-year-old woman was fatally shot in Milwaukee. The incident occurred near the intersection of 27th and Clayton Crest Avenue, which is located just north of Grange.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. The Milwaukee County medical examiner has identified the victim as Aliyah Perez.

Perez’s family members have stated FOX3 that she is the niece of Milwaukee Common Council President José Pérez.

On Monday, the Common Council president released a statement regarding the tragic incident that occurred within the past 24 hours.

The statement expressed the family’s profound sadness and requested privacy and space during this difficult time.
