Award-winning cyclist Ethan Boyes died after being struck by a car at a national park in San Francisco
The investigation is ongoing, and USPP detectives are working alongside the United States Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday afternoon, a well-known athlete named Boyes was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike near Presidio, a historic park located south of the Golden Gate Bridge, according to authorities.
Boyes was rushed to a hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 44.
The driver of the vehicle was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Boyes had an impressive athletic career, winning 10 national championships and setting an age-group record in a 1,000-meter time trial in 2015.
USA Cycling paid tribute to him, stating that he was not only a great athlete but also an outstanding member of the American track cycling community.
The U.S. Park Police did not release any additional information about the fatal collision, but stated that crash investigations are complicated and involve a significant amount of evidence and data.
The investigation is ongoing, and USPP detectives are working alongside the United States Attorney’s Office.
The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition also released a statement on Friday, remembering Boyes as a beloved figure in San Francisco cycling and emphasizing that one traffic fatality is too many.
