A SUSPECT has reportedly been arrested in the case of a young mother who was shot dead while pushing her baby in a stroller.

Azsia Johnson, 20, was walking around New York City with her three-month-old kid in a stroller when she was shot in the head at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This led to the arrest of the suspect.
A person of interest was identified as the father of her three-month-old child, who was 22 years old.
Local station PIX11 News made the announcement of the arrest in Brooklyn.
The New York Police Department has verified to FOX3 that Johnson was wheeling the stroller on the Upper East Side of Manhattan when someone approached her, shot her in the head, and then fled the scene. The incident is being investigated as a possible targeted shooting.
According to the statements made by law enforcement, she was killed by a masked man dressed in all black who approached her from behind and fired a gun at point-blank range.
According to information obtained from a number of sources, she was discovered unconscious at the site and sent to Metropolitan Hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. Her child emerged unscathed from the ordeal.
According to ABC7, investigators found a disturbing final text message sent by Johnson that stated she was meeting with the father of the three-month-old child “to smooth things out” on the day of the murder.
She also has a son who is one year old.
According to Lisa Desort, the victim’s mother, who spoke to ABC about the incident, she said, “I knew it was going to come to this, and I told my daughter this.”
FOX3 was informed by the NYPD’s public information division that no arrests or charges can currently be confirmed.
However, law enforcement officials are said to have told other media sites that an arrest has been made in connection with Johnson’s slaying.
