BCS Superintendent Lawrence Sanchez said there was a threat of violence made via digital communications in reference to the Belen High School campus.

BCS Superintendent Lawrence Sanchez said there was a threat of violence made via digital communications in reference to the Belen High School campus.

UPDATE (4:10 p.m.): BCS Superintendent Lawrence Sanchez said there was no threat found at the Belen High School campus and law enforcement has given the all clear. Buses are leaving the campus to take students home. Students who walk to BHS are being walked over to Eagle Park, north of the high school, for pick up. Sanchez said the incident is still under investigation.
Infinity High School students are at Belen Middle School. If you wish to pick up your Infinity High School student or Belen Middle School student you may do so with a valid ID. Elementary parents, if you wish to pick up your student at their regular release times, you may do so with a valid ID.
Shortly after 2 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 23, Belen Consolidated Schools issued a text alert to parents of students at Belen High School saying the campus was in modified lock down due to a threat. The message did not specify what type of threat.
About 15 minutes later, a second text message was sent indicating the campus had moved to a full lock down. Law enforcement is on site and has assumed control of the situation, the message said.
“We haven’t identified a specific source but we are taking this seriously and are on full lock down,” Sanchez said.
The superintendent said officers from the Belen Police Department were at the high school and New Mexico State Police were on the way.
No one is allowed to enter or exit the campus at this time.
The district will send out additional information once the all clear has been given.
