Lockdown lifted at Bend high schools, Bear Creek Elementary after threat
All Bend area high schools were in “secure” status Thursday afternoon due to a threat investigation, according to Bend police spokesperson Sheila Miller.

UPDATE from Bend-La Pine SD: All Bend area high schools and Bear Creek elementary are now clear from Secure. Out of an abundance of caution, police presence will be increased around schools for the rest of the afternoon.

On Thursday afternoon, Bend police announced that all high schools in the Bend area were in secure status while they investigated a reported threat.
According to Sheila Miller, a Bend police spokesperson, the Bend-La Pine School District had been notified and police officers were on the scene at Bend High School.
Miller declined to give specifics on the nature of the threat being investigated.
The police department issued a tweet asking the public to avoid the area while they conducted their investigation.
Multiple officers were in the vicinity of Bend High School.
