Body of missing 12-year-old Stacia Leigh Collins found on dirt road in Kentucky after dad Stacy shot himself

A few hours after her father Stacy Collins was found in Kentucky with a gunshot wound, Stacia Leigh Collins was found on a gravel road in Kentucky.

The schoolgirl’s mother reported that the suspect sent her a disturbing final message asking, “Do you want to speak to your daughter one last time?”

The police report that the body of Stacia was discovered in a “very, very isolated” section of Johnson County. She was fatally shot, according to local news sources.

J.R. Frisby, coroner of Johnson County, stated that the road is “rarely traversed by anyone.”

Last Thursday, when police were called to a report of an assault, they found dad Stacy with what they think was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“Following the first inquiry, investigators determined that Mr. Collins’ 12-year-old daughter was missing,” stated the sheriff’s office.

“After following up on a large number of leads in an effort to find the youngster, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Director of Emergency Management in the county, Gary McClure, started putting together search squads in an effort to find the missing child.

The location in which Mr. Collins was discovered was going to be the primary focus of the search to begin with.

“Unfortunately, with the help of the public, the youngster was quickly identified, but he or she had already passed away.

The Johnson County Coroner’s Office was responsible for transporting the deceased’s remains to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort, Kentucky.

“At this time, we are unable to disclose any further details. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into this matter.”

Earlier, the authorities had posted a picture of Stacia along with the following caption: “JCSO is requesting the public’s aid with information to attempt to identify this missing juvenile, Stacia Leigh Collins.”

She is 12 years old and is from Van Lear, Kentucky.
