Boulder High School on lockdown after reports of an active shooter

As a precautionary measure in response to an unverified report of a potential active shooter on campus Wednesday morning, Boulder High School has suspended all classes and issued a shelter-in-place order.

Law enforcement officials tweeted at 9:40 a.m. that they were in the process of thoroughly searching the school, but had yet to discover any casualties.

They advised individuals within the school to remain in their current location until further notice.

Busses are currently en route to Boulder High School to evacuate students to the reunification center. Police still have no confirmed reports of injuries.

Authorities are currently addressing a potentially serious situation at Boulder High School following a report of an active shooter, although it has not yet been officially confirmed.

As per the Boulder Valley School District, the school has been placed under lockdown due to the reported threat.

At 8:56 a.m., Boulder Police Department tweeted: “We are currently responding to Boulder High School for a report of an active shooter. The report has not been confirmed. A shelter in place order has been sent. Please avoid the area.

The Boulder Police Department has clarified that they are still investigating the validity of the report.

Additionally, a shelter-in-place order has been issued for individuals residing in the red zone.

Law enforcement officials are requesting that individuals refrain from entering the vicinity.

Boulder Valley School District issued the following statement:

Boulder High School is currently on LOCKDOWN (Lock, Lights, Out of Sight).

During a Lockdown, rooms are secured and students are instructed to stay quiet and in place. BVSD will provide more information as soon as possible.

If you are not at the school – DO NOT APPROACH THE BUILDING. Stay away from the area and await further information.
