Early Thursday afternoon, Boulder High School was put on secure status, but school officials said they didn’t know why yet.

Randy Barber, a spokesman for the Boulder Valley School District, has confirmed that the campus located at 1604 Arapahoe Ave. has been placed on secure status.
This status indicates that the front doors have been shut, but that activities inside the school are continuing as usual.
According to Barber, the parents have been informed.
At this time, Barber stated that it is not clear what prompted the move to secure status; however, Boulder Valley security has responded, and the Boulder police department has been notified.
Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
