According to the Chicago Police Department, a drag racing incident in the neighborhood of Brighton Park resulted in the shooting of five people, including the deaths of three.

According to the Chicago Police Department, a drag racing incident in the neighborhood of Brighton Park resulted in the shooting of five people, including the deaths of three.

Approximately one hundred cars competed in a drag race at the crossroads of Kedzie and Archer before thirteen shots were fired. There have been no arrests made, but the search for at least one or two individuals is still ongoing. There were no firearms found.
According to the local police, there are two males who are currently being treated at a local hospital for life-threatening injuries.
FOX3 was informed by the police that each of the victims is associated with a different gang. The victims who passed away ranged in age from approximately 15 to 20 years old.
It is unknown how the drag racing led to the shooting, and the investigation into the incident is still ongoing at this time.
