Caiden Lopez arrested in connection to shooting that leaves one person critically injured in Tucson
The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

On March 10th, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m., deputies responded to the 5100 block of Kain Avenue for a report of a shooting. Initial information provided to deputies was someone had been shot, and they were driving the victim to the hospital.
While on scene deputies located several shell casings and learned from witnesses multiple people were seen fleeing the area prior to their arrival.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to conduct interviews and collect evidence. Through their investigative efforts several persons of interest were developed including the identity of one of the suspects.
With the assistance of our Fugitive Investigations Unit, deputies were able to locate and arrest one of the suspects. He has been identified as 16-year-old Caiden Lopez. Caiden was booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex and charged with First Degree Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 9-1-1.
