Marc Muffley, a 40-year-old individual, was arrested by the FBI after an explosive device was discovered in a bag that had been checked onto a flight headed for Florida.
The device, which was concealed within the lining of the bag, consisted of a circular compound that was roughly 3 inches in diameter.
Two fuses and flash powder were found concealed within the compound, which had been wrapped in wax paper and plastic.
As per the affidavit, a device containing a fuse and flash powder was found in 40-year-old Muffley’s luggage, which he intended to take on flight 201 to Orlando, Florida.


Additionally, the baggage had a can of butane, a lighter, a pipe with white powder residue, a wireless drill with cordless batteries, and two GFCI outlets taped together with black tape.
Security cameras at LVIA recorded Muffley arriving at the airport at approximately 10:45 a.m. and being dropped off by someone driving a white Chevrolet Equinox.
TSA discovered the explosive in the baggage at around 11:40 a.m. and paged Muffley over the airport’s public address system to report to the security desk.
Muffley was seen leaving the airport via the lower-level exit at 11:45 a.m.
Marc Muffley, 40, is charged with possessing an explosive in an airport and possessing or attempting to place an explosive or incendiary device on an aircraft, according to a criminal complaint.
