According to witnesses, a man tragically lost his life last week while assisting a family of ducks in crossing a roadway. The incident occurred at Stanford Ranch Road and Park Drive around 8 p.m. on Thursday, as confirmed by the police.

The driver involved, a 17-year-old girl, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

According to 12-year-old witness William, who was granted permission by his mother, the man had exited his vehicle to assist a family of ducks in avoiding the oncoming traffic.

William shared his account, stating, “He got out of the car and was shooing the ducks, and everyone was clapping because he was being really nice.”

Using his cellphone, William captured photos of the man and the ducks as they crossed in front of their car. He noted that everyone at the intersection remained still, even when the traffic lights turned green.

William added, “He helped them get up over the curb because all the little baby duckies were having trouble, and then he walked in front of our car.” Once the ducks were safely rescued, William and others in the vicinity applauded the man’s commendable efforts.

As his mother rolled down the window, William joined in, expressing his admiration by saying, “Good job, good job.”

However, moments later, the unfortunate incident occurred. William mentioned that the car appeared to have appeared suddenly, catching them off guard.

He clarified, “I didn’t see the car actually hit him. All I remember is the sound and then him flying across the intersection. His shoes and one of his socks were right in front of our car.”

Fortunately, William’s younger sister was in the backseat, paying attention to the ducks and unaffected by the accident.

On Friday, William and his siblings remained at home, accompanied by their mother, as they were still distressed by the tragic incident. His mother extended her support to the man’s children, who were in his car and inquiring about their father. William hopes that people will remember the compassionate man who selflessly saved the ducks before his untimely passing.

He firmly believes that such a kind-hearted individual did not deserve such a fate. William emphasized, “He was the only person to get out of the car and try and help them, and probably the nicest person in the entire area. It’s not fair.”

Witnessing the tragic incident, another 12-year-old was deeply moved and later returned to the intersection with flowers and several rubber ducks as a tribute.

Jude expressed the belief that the man should be honored for his kindness, despite the unfortunate turn of events. “He was an amazing person,” Jude stated. As of now, police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatality.

No tickets or arrests have been made regarding the driver involved in the incident.
