Two mass shootings in major US city leave eight injured including a 14-year-old boy

Just hours apart, two mass shootings struck Chicago, injuring at least eight people each.

On June 7, a 14-year-old boy was shot in the arm and became one of the victims.

A gunman opened fire on four people in the courtyard of the Altgeld Gardens housing project.

Police said the four were standing near a courtyard when a shooter approached and opened fire. According to authorities, the adolescent was shot in the arm and was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition. Both a 24-year-old guy wounded in the face and a 45-year-old woman shot in the chest are doing well in the hospital. A fourth person was struck in the arm with a bullet.

Four hours later, on the West Side, four persons were injured, according to authorities. On a sidewalk, someone walked up and started shooting. In addition to the 43-year-old lady who was shot in the chest, a 30-year-old woman was shot in the leg, and a 26-year-old man was shot in the left shoulder. All three victims were in critical condition.

Meanwhile, on June 8, gun violence wracked the city, leaving two dead and five injured.

A guy, 43, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head, while a lady, 24, was killed while sitting in the backseat of a vehicle..

Medical examiners pronounced her deceased at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Unidentified male, 21, was shot while standing on the porch and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
