Chicago shooting: Police officer shot in Englewood; suspect also struck by gunfire

CPD says a South Side officer was shot Sunday afternoon.
According to the police, the incident took place in the Englewood area close to the intersection of West 69th Street and South Sangamon Street.
According to the police, the officer was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center via ambulance. Additionally, a criminal was shot and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police did not disclose any information about the condition of the officer or the status of the suspect.
