Children’s Museum of Yuma County board member Kevin Burge passed away yesterday after a short but valiant battle with cancer.

Kevin joined the CMYC board in 2014 and served as President, Vice President, and Treasurer throughout his tenure.
Most importantly, Kevin was our ultimate museum champion.
Behind the scenes he could be found helping to secure funding for the organization, brainstorming new creative exhibits, moving/setting up/tearing down exhibits, and volunteering at outreach events.
For the past 3.5 years, he shared his engineering expertise as we located and began renovating our permanent museum home which is scheduled to open later this year.
The museum’s success is due in large part to Kevin’s tireless efforts over the past 8 years.
Kevin has been president of the local branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers and president of the Yuma Rotary Club from July 2016 to June 2017.
Kevin was born and raised in Yuman, and he was excited to move this project forward so that children in the area can enjoy it. Kevin had a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff), which he got in 1997.
Kevin leaves behind his wife, and their two children live in Yuma.
