The Atlanta Police are presently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred behind the LYKE Catholic House on Beckwith Street near the Atlanta University Center shortly before 1:45 p.m.
According to FOX3, the victim was identified by Clark Atlanta University officials as Jatonne Sterling, a sophomore from Chicago who played baseball for the university.
The police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man was found dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators have ruled out the possibility of the shooting being random and believe that a disagreement led up to the incident.
The suspect is still at large, and detectives are reviewing security footage and questioning neighbors.
The Atlanta University Center comprises three of Atlanta’s most distinguished historically black colleges and universities: Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and Spelman College.
