Code Red lockdown at Wake County Schools

Students at Zebulon Middle School will be dismissed from school earlier than usual on Friday, and the lockdown at East Millbrook Middle School has been lifted.

The school in Zebulon stated that the end of the school day would begin at 12:15 p.m. or possibly earlier. Parents who are picking up their children at school should continue to use the designated carpool lane. Picking up children is restricted to only those individuals who have been authorised to do so. The school asked that you bring some kind of identification with you when you picked up your youngster.

According to the school’s website, the Code Red was lifted at 10:55 in the morning at East Millbrook. Around 9:27 in the morning, a lockdown was initiated at the location because there was talk of a potential threat.

The Zebulon school was placed in lockdown status, according to the police, because of a threat made on social media.

Both schools said all students are safe.

According to the school’s announcement, East Millbrook will follow a different schedule on Friday. The remainder of the school day will also see an increase in the number of law enforcement officers present on campus. Parents are strongly discouraged from picking up their children on school grounds by the educational institution.

“We will continue with a regular day of teaching and learning,” East Millbrook said on its website.

As soon as it is possible, the schools will post new information on their website and provide updated information to all of the parents by text message and email.

Needham Broughton High issued the following statement:

Around 10:45 a.m. today, we placed our campus on a “modified code yellow” lockdown due to security concerns at our school. The lockdown ended at 11:30 a.m. The lockdown was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our students and faculty.
