Katia Aveiro, Ronaldo’s sister, took to social media to share an impassioned statement in which she pleaded with her brother to give up playing for Portugal and instead spend more time with his family.

The sister of the Portuguese star shared a long message with internet users in which she talks about the “smallness of a large part of the Portuguese people”.

This comes after the former Manchester United player was benched for last night’s victory over Switzerland, which ended with a score of 6-1.

After being released by the Red Devils a month ago, Ronaldo is currently without a club to play for because of his status as a free agent.

The only serious offer he’s gotten so far is from the Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr, who are willing to pay him 173 million pounds a year.

And Ronaldo is currently on the bench for his national team as well.

The legendary player of the nation was not even selected to start Tuesday’s match against Switzerland in the round of 16 of the World Cup.

“Portugal won. Thank God. New talents shone. Wonderful. Are we going to win this? I believe so! On the field they shouted for Ronaldo. It wasn’t because Portugal was winning… And I’m not the one saying this. I’m glad Portugal won (I’ve seen Portugal win so many times).”, began by writing the Madeiran artist and businesswoman.

“And even this does not invalidate the smallness of a large part of the Portuguese people. And this is what is not right, because they continue to curse, they continue to insist on offense and ingratitude. Too sad with what I read and hear. Not here in Qatar , but in my country, in his country… But really sad.”, wrote Katia Aveiro.

“I so wanted him to come home, leave the national team and sit next to us so we could hug him and tell him that everything is fine, remind him of what he achieved and what home he came from, I so wanted him not to go home anymore. there, we’ve already suffered enough (they’ll never know how much). You’re big and the little ones don’t realize how huge you are… Come to your house. Which is where you’re understood, where you’re hugged. As it’s always been. Where you have all the gratitude. And not ingratitude. Thank you Ronaldo. Thank you. I really wanted to. But whatever you decide, we are with you. Until death. Thank you”.

It should be remembered that the Portuguese international was not a starter in the ‘quinas’ selection game against Switzerland.

The decision came after the controversial substitution of CR7, in the game against South Korea, after Fernando Santos said that he did not like to see what the star had said.
