Daniel Ramone Scott killed in an officer-involved shooting in Ashburn
One officer was injured in a wreck at a separate location but is okay.

According to officials, the suspect involved in an officer-involved shooting in Ashburn on Wednesday afternoon died from their injuries.
The shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive near a daycare.
Police tried to pull over Daniel Ramone Scott, 25, who was a burglary suspect. While trying to drive away, officers crashed into Scott’s vehicle in an attempt to stop him.

One officer was injured in a wreck at a separate location but is okay.
Despite eventually being handcuffed and in custody, Scott was able to take control of a police vehicle, which led to him being shot.
The subject managed to move his handcuffs to the front of his body, break the plexiglass partition of the police vehicle, get into the driver’s seat, and drive away.
He rammed the vehicle into a silver car, according to Ashburn Police Chief Richard Purvis. Scott died at Tift Regional Medical Center, according to law enforcement.
The investigation is being turned over to the GBI. Please be patient as they investigate.
