Daycare owner Shanteari Weems shoots her husband for allegedly molesting children at the center

Shanteari Weems who was arrested on Thursday in connection with a shooting that occurred at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. told police that she shot her husband because he was sexually assaulting children at the day care that she runs in Baltimore County, Maryland.

The man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is currently in serious condition.

For around thirty minutes, the pair was confined within the room.

After being detained, 50-year-old Shanteari Weems was accused with murderous assault.

Shanteari Weems, who is 50 years old, was taken into custody and is being charged with attempted murder.

The police discovered two firearms inside the room, as well as letters written by Weems in which she apologized to the children and claimed that she had no idea what was going on at the day care.

The police in Baltimore County have stated that they are keeping an eye on the investigation in Washington, D.C., and offering assistance to the local families who have been affected. It is reported that the day care center is closed for the foreseeable future.

Weems allegedly informed the police that she and the victim have been married for the past five years.

The victim of the incident is a former officer with the Baltimore Police Department who resigned in 2008 and has since been employed as a security consultant.
