Deshawn Thomas, a 23-year-old suspect, has been apprehended by the police for his involvement in a downtown shooting on Monday.

The footage appears to depict a shooting that took place in daylight hours on North Tucker Boulevard’s 700 block.

According to the police, they were notified of a shooting shortly after 10:10 a.m. on Monday involving a man in his 40s who sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim had reportedly engaged in a dispute with the purported shooter at a Shell station in the vicinity prior to the incident. Tragically, the victim was declared dead at the scene.

Around 2:40 p.m., while on patrol, an officer spotted the suspect in the vicinity and alerted other patrolling officers, who arrived at the scene and witnessed the suspect entering the Olive Street library.

The suspect was apprehended without any trouble, and authorities recovered a firearm and a shell casing from the suspect.

The Homicide Division is presently in charge of the investigation.
