Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram has been REINSTATED

Donald’s return to the Meta-owned platforms comes several months after Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk allowed the former President to regain access to the site in November.

The last post Trump made on Facebook before his suspension was related to the Capitol siege in 2021, where he called for peaceful protests.

His final post on Instagram was made a day before the Capitol riots, in which he announced the details of his “Save America March” in Washington D.C. On January 25, Meta announced its intention to restore Trump’s accounts, stating that it did not want to hinder “open, public, and democratic debates” on the platforms.

The company emphasized the importance of allowing the public to hear what politicians are saying, both good and bad, in order to make informed choices at the ballot box. However, Meta also noted that there are limits to what can be said on its platform, and that it will act when there is a clear risk of real-world harm.

After his social media accounts were suspended on all major platforms, Trump started using Truth Social to communicate with his supporters.

On January 6, 2021, pro-Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol in Washington D.C. in an effort to prevent Congress from certifying the election results and declaring President-elect Joe Biden as the new President.
