Douglas Pierre Kennerly killed in shooting outside Creative Cuttin & Styles in Summerville
Doug Kennerly of Summerville was identified as the man shot at the Creative Cuttin’ Styles barber and beauty salon downtown Summerville, at approximately 7:20pm yesterday.

Doug Kennerly of Summerville was identified as the man shot at the Creative Cuttin’ Styles barber and beauty salon downtown Summerville, at approximately 7:20pm yesterday.

On September 24, the Summerville Police Department responded to a gunshot that resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man in front of Creative Cuttin’ Styles at 312 N. Cedar St.
Emergency medical services from Dorchester County and officers from the Summerville Police Department responded to the incident that took place at 7:20 p.m. The victim, Doug Kennerly, was identified as the male who was shot, sustained injuries as a result of the shooting, and ultimately lost his life as a result of those injuries. The person in question was apparently brought to Trident Hospital, but he was unable to recover from his injuries and passed away there.
The event is being treated as a homicide and investigated as such at this time. As this publication goes to press, the Summerville Police Department has not yet made any arrests.
An autopsy will be performed on the deceased individual’s body at the Medical University of South Carolina on September 29, 2022, at 10:30 in the morning.
According to a press release that was issued by the police not so long ago, this inquiry is still ongoing.
