Elderly man mauled to death and an elderly woman in critical condition after being attacked by two American Staffordshire Terriers
The owners of the dogs are likely to face charges for their actions.

It has been verified by the San Antonio Police that an elderly man in his 80s was fatally mauled and an elderly woman is in a critical state after being attacked by two American Staffordshire Terriers that were roaming without a leash on Depla Street, near Cupples Road, in the Southwest Side area.
The victims were standing on the pavement at the time of the incident. In addition to this, a fire captain was bitten on the leg and a fourth person on the hand.
The Animal Care Services has taken custody of the two dogs, along with a third dog that was found running freely with them.
The owners of the dogs are likely to face charges for their actions.
According to ACS Director Shannon Sims, the three dogs involved in the recent attack, which include two female and one male American Staffordshire Terriers, have been placed in quarantine kennels and will remain there until further notice.
The animals were previously impounded by ACS two years ago after being involved in another attack.
The animal shelter has received complaints from neighbors over the past two years, reporting that the dogs were wandering around and being neglected.
At the time of the incident, San Antonio fire crews witnessed one of the two pit bull dogs involved in the attack dragging an 80-year-old man on the sidewalk.
SAFD Chief Charles Hood described the man as being covered in blood before the firefighters intervened.
Hood also stated that it is not typical for their crews to have to defend themselves or their patients from animals.
During the incident, the dogs also confronted the firefighters, who had to use pickaxes and pipe poles to defend themselves before providing assistance to the victims.
