Officer-involved shooting on I-90
Fatal law enforcement involved shooting near Spokane Street in Post Falls on I-90. Avoid the area. West bound lanes of freeway will be blocked for several hours.

A large police presence and I-90 is closed near Spokane Street in Post Falls. Several eye witness reports of a truck ran over the top of a Post Falls Police vehicle while it was trying to be stopped.

POST FALLS, IDAHO – On December 29th, 2022 at approx. 08:37 AM, Officers with the Post Falls Police Department responded to multiple, what appear to be intentionally hit-&-run crashes in the area of the 300 block of Railroad Ave in Post Falls, Idaho.
Officers responded and found the suspect in the 700 block of Spokane Street where they attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect intentional rammed a patrol car to escape and a pursuit of the suspect was initiated.
The suspect vehicle rammed another patrol vehicle on I-90 at milepost 4 and shots were fired.
This is a very fluid investigation, so we are unable to release more details at this time. No officers were shot and no suspects are outstanding.
The North Idaho Critical Incident Task Force has been activated to investigate the matter and the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department has been tasked as the lead agency.
It is expected that I-90 westbound will be closed from milepost 5 to milepost 2 for most of the day today. Traffic is being detoured onto Seltice Way. All further updates will come from the Coeur d’ Alene Police Department.




Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
