A distraught father Bedlar Avdia attacked an Albanian police commissioner Arjan Tase on the beach after the officer allegedly killed his 7-year-old British daughter Jonada Avdia by crashing his boat onto her.

Jonada Avdia, a British-born citizen, was killed Tuesday while playing in the ocean near Potam Beach in Albania when she was struck by a speedboat’s propeller. According to sources, officer Arjan Tase drove the boat during his off-duty hours.

Photos published by Albania’s former prime minister Sali Berisha reveal that when Tase parked his boat on the shore immediately following the deadly collision, her father Bedlar Avdia confronted his daughter’s suspected killer, and a fight occurred.

Allegedly, the officer sailed the vessel into swimming-only areas.

Avdia, an Albanian resident, reportedly told regional news agencies, “I was bathing together with my kid near the shore, I spotted a white boat with two individuals on board.”

Before heading in the direction of him and his daughter, the boat reportedly stopped momentarily on the shore, where a woman got off and additional women and children boarded.

He remarked, “It came in our direction, arrived with infernal speed, and split me from the girl.”

When I dove under the water, the craft’s engine section struck my daughter, hurting her all over.

Tase, the city of Elbasan’s police chief, was later detained and was scheduled to appear in court in the city of Vlora on Friday.

According to investigators, the officer was driving his family members the approximately 5-mile journey from Porto Palermo to Potam at the time of the collision.

According to law enforcement officials, Tase sped through a spot that was obviously marked with buoys for swimmers to drop off family members before pulling away and hitting young Jonada about 15 feet from the shore.

A police spokeswoman informed local media that the boat’s propeller blades “caused major injuries that resulted in instant loss of life.”

Tase has been charged with “negligent homicide,” and 15 beach patrol officers who were meant to be on duty that day have been sacked.

The incident provoked demonstrations in the nation’s capital, Tirana, where protesters called for the resignation of the interior minister, Bledar uçi, the state police director general, Gledis Nanos, and the minister of tourism, Mirela Kumbaro.

Sali Berisha, the leader of Albania’s Democratic Party, asserted that the yacht had previously been utilized for narcotics trafficking.
