No credible threat found at Fort Washington Elementary

Dozens of officers are currently at Fort Washington Elementary after they received a threat of violence.

Update: The Fresno Police Department has confirmed that there is no serious threat at Fort Washington Elementary after a guy reported a shooting threat on Friday afternoon.

Around 2:00 p.m., the school was put on lockdown after a guy allegedly contacted 911 to say that he was planning to commit a shooting on campus.

Officers arrived at the school right away and determined there was no real threat.

Investigators say they have reason to believe the threat was a hoax call, but out of an abundance of caution, they have placed the campus under lockdown.

Officials have stated that they are actively seeking to determine the origin of the call.

The personnel at the school are working quickly to devise a strategy that will allow them to let the students go.

Fresno Police Officers have responded to Fort Washington Elementary regarding a threat of a shooting.

Following protocols, the school has been placed on lockdown.

Officers are working with campus staff.

At this time, it does not appear that any shooting has taken place and there are no injuries.
