The Fort Wayne Police Department family is grieving the loss of Det. Donald Kidd, who passed away unexpectedly last night.

An experienced detective who worked for the Fort Wayne Police Department for many years has suddenly passed away.
The department said on Friday that Det. Donald Kidd had passed away suddenly late on Thursday night. He was 52.
Kidd had been with the police for the better part of 17 years.
According to a statement released by the head of the police department, Steve Reed, “it is with a very heavy heart that we relay this unfortunate news.” During this trying time, I ask that you continue to keep Kidd’s family in your thoughts and prayers. When we all join together to pay tribute to Detective Donald Kidd, the Fort Worth Police Department will be there to show their support for the officer’s family.
During this difficult time, the family of Det. Kidd has requested privacy from the Fort Wayne Police Department.
