According to the police, the collision occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of East 24th Street and Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay. It involved both a marked and an unmarked car.
The NYPD stated that officers were responding to reports of gunfire along Nostrand Avenue.
Police say that after the two cars crashed into each other, one of them went flying into the fence of a house.

On the approach to the medical facility, it was observed that officers were being transported to ambulances on stretchers. According to authorities and sources, the injuries were not serious.
The front bumper of the marked NYPD police cruiser had been severely damaged, and the driver’s side of the unmarked automobile had sustained significant damage.

According to our sources, there was no evidence that shots had been fired at the scene of the incident that we were responding to.
