Franklin High School on lockdown after reports of a subject with a gun
Franklin High School was placed on “secure” while authorities investigate “incident.”

Unconfirmed reports of a subject with a gun have been received by the El Paso police, who have said that they are cooperating with the school district police.
Officials from the school district said on Monday afternoon that Franklin High School has been placed in a “secure” status as a result of an event that occurred in the vicinity of the campus.
When there is an indication that there may be a threat, the school system implements a lockdown procedure known as Secure.
The high school continued to function as it typically does, but no students or staff were permitted to enter or exit the building.
According to statements made by administrators of the El Paso Independent School District, school district police are collaborating with local law enforcement in order to investigate the issue.
District officers will remain on campus throughout the day out of an abundance of caution.
This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
