No active shooter at Gila Ridge High School, suspect fled the scene
The Yuma Police Department are responding to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Gila Ridge High School.

Update: THERE IS NO ACTIVE SHOOTER ON CAMPUS. The suspect fled the scene and YPD and other local law enforcement are actively searching for the suspect.

Report of shots fired in the parking lot of Gila Ridge High School 7150 E 24th Street.
The suspect has fled on foot, and officers are actively searching the area. Gila Ridge and surrounding schools are on lockdown.
There have been no reported injuries at this time.
We are asking for people to stay clear of the area while officers attempt to locate the suspect.
Gila Ridge High School issued the following statement:
At approximately 8:22AM Gila Ridge High School entered a lockdown due to reports of shots fired in the school parking lot. Students are secure in classrooms while police search for the suspect, who fled the scene on foot.
Please do not attempt to access the campus at this time. We will provide updates via Blackboard Messenger and social media as soon as more information becomes available.
