Gunman Justin Flores who killed California cops Michael Paredes and Joseph Santana died from suicide

According to online coroner’s records, the alleged gang member who shot and murdered two police officers at a motel in California took his own life after he had finished off the officers.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, 35-year-old Justin Flores committed himself outside the Siesta Inn Motel, where he shot and killed El Monte police officers Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana on Tuesday.

Flores died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the autopsy report. After Flores, 42, killed Paredes, 42, and Santana, 31, while they reacted to a domestic issue, officials said he was killed in a gunfight with other officers.

Coroner’s records show that Paredes and Santana died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Officials had alleged that Flores fled outside and exchanged gunfire with other officers after killing the officers.

George Gascón, the progressive LA County District Attorney, has been under increasing pressure since the incident, with Santana’s mother blaming Gascón for her son’s death.

During the time of the double homicide, Flores was out on probation following his conviction for felonious possession of a firearm.

According to the papers from the court, Flores’ probation officer has requested that the alleged gang member come to court later this month.
