There was neither a shooting nor an active shooter at any of the schools located within Cumberland County, including Jack Britt High School.
Cumberland County Schools statement:
This morning, school officials at Jack Britt High School were made aware of a false report regarding violence at their school. Law enforcement has confirmed that the report of an active shooter is false. There has not been a shooting at Jack Britt High School or any other school in Cumberland County.
Sheriff Ennis W. Wright issued the following statement:
We are aware of swatting calls to 911 that a shooting occurred at Jack Britt High School. There was no shooting or active shooter at Jack Britt High or any of the schools in Cumberland County.
Officers and detectives are currently on scene conducting an investigation.
