University of British Columbia stated RCMP are responding to a targeted incident at the University Golf Club. RCMP say there is nothing to indicate risk to the public.

On Monday morning, there is a substantial presence of law enforcement officers at the University of British Columbia.

A witness reported hearing gunshots at the University Golf Club shortly after 10 in the morning.

It would appear that the parking lot of the club is the primary focus of the inquiry. A witness has indicated to FOX3 that there is a tarp covering a piece of the parking lot.

In addition to this, it has been reported that there is a significant police presence in the area of Highway 91 and Westminster Highway in Richmond.

Around ten in the morning, officers from the Vancouver Police Department and the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services were called out. They were successful in putting out the fire, and there are no reports of anyone being hurt.

At this point, it is not possible to tell whether or whether the instances are connected.
