Missing 18-year-old Aonesty Selby found dead in Isle of Wight County
The family of Aonesty Selby report she was last seen on Wednesday in James City county. Police sent out a missing person alert on Friday.

On Friday, January 13, 2023, patrol deputies with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Blue Ridge Trail, Windsor, Virginia, for a report of a deceased female.
Upon the arrival of Sheriff’s Office personnel, it was confirmed that the Body of a black female was located on a dirt logging path in a remote area of Isle of Wight County.
The female was identified as 18-year-old Aonesty Selby of Williamsburg, Virginia. Earlier in the day, family members reported Selby missing since they had not heard from her since Wednesday, January 11, 2023.
The Body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk for an autopsy. Until a cause and manner of death are confirmed by the medical examiner, Investigators are treating this incident as a suspicious death.
Aonesty recently turned 18 on January 10, 2023, and was thought to be in the company of several individuals just before her death. Investigators with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office are asking if anyone has information as to the whereabouts of Aonesty Selby between January 11 and January 13, 2023, to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK- U-Up or to utilize the P3 Tips App.
Information that leads to an arrest can earn the caller a cash reward of up to $1500.00 while remaining anonymous and not having to appear in Court.
This is an ongoing investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
