Emily Goodwin has been located deceased near where her vehicle was located

Update: Emily Goodwin was located deceased this afternoon in the area of her abandoned vehicle, investigation is on-going.
The Columbia Police Department is trying to locate 32-year-old missing person Emily Goodwin. Goodwin’s vehicle was found abandoned in the 900 Block area of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia on 12/16/2022.
Goodwin made several concerning statements to family prior to being reported missing. Goodwin is 5’6”tall weighing 140 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.
Goodwin reportedly abandoned her vehicle at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the parking lot of Faith Fellowship Church, which is located approximately 1.2 miles away from her residence. A close friend of the Goodwin family, Kristin Bural, stated that she remained in her vehicle for at least a half an hour.
Bural said, “The church cameras didn’t have a view from the driver’s side, so we don’t know where she went after she got out of the car.”
The next day, Goodwin’s open car was discovered to have her phone and keys inside.
According to the video, “no other car pulled into the parking lot,” Bural continued.
The family is asking locals to check their ring cameras starting at 5 p.m. on December 14 and continuing through the evening. People are also being urged to inspect the creeks beside their houses, covered sections of land, and sheds. Police have already used drones to scan the area around Goodwin’s abandoned car, according to Bural, but they are unable to scan the area close to the creek or along tree lines.
