Highland Park parade shooting suspect Robert Crimo charged with 7 counts of murder, state’s attorney says

Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart stated he expects to file additional charges in the future.
“We anticipate dozens of more charges centering around each of the victims,” he said in a news conference.
According to Rinehart, if Crimo is found guilty on these seven counts, he will be sentenced to a mandatory life term without the chance of parole. According to the official, they would urge the judge to detain Crimo “without the prospect of bail” tomorrow.
“We will ask the judge to impose the worst punishment possible on this perpetrator. Justice and the healing process require it, not because we want to exact revenge, “added Rinehart.
In the incident on Monday, at least seven people died and numerous others were injured.
