Jason Perry charged following officer-involved shooting incident in Carroll County
His bond is set at $1 million for each count.
An Atwood man has been charged for alleged criminal actions in connection to an officer-involved shooting in Carroll County.
The investigation was carried out by special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at the request of the 24th Judicial District Attorney General, Neil Thompson.
The incident occurred on February 23rd on Hamilton Street in Atwood, when deputies responded to reports of a disturbance caused by a reckless driver on family property.
Upon arrival, the man fired a high-powered weapon at the deputies, who returned fire before the man barricaded himself in his nearby home.
After a 6-hour standoff, officers entered the home and apprehended the man, who had suffered a gunshot wound.
The man, identified as Jason Perry, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Carry or Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was taken into custody after being released from the hospital.
His bond is set at $1 million for each count, and the investigation is still ongoing with additional charges expected.
